Are PARI products latex-free?
All of our products are latex-free.
Can I use my PARI BOY compressor anywhere in the world?
Different countries around the world use different voltages for their mains electricity supply, here in the UK we have 240V at 50Hz.
The PARI BOY mobile S is suitable for use any where in the world. The PARI BOY mobile S includes a universal power supply which can be used with voltages between 100 and 240 V and 50 to 40 Hz.
Our mains compressor's voltage requirements can be checked on the identification label on the underside of the compressor. This should then be checked to ensure compatibility in the country you are visiting.
Do you also have loan devices for use on holiday?
PARI Medical Ltd. does not currently offer such a service.
Do you also offer loan devices for the repair period?
If you need a loan device to use while your PARI nebuliser system is being repaired, call us on the following phone number: 01932 34 11 22. There is normally a charge (in addition to the normal service/repair charge) for this service.
Does continuous nebulising not cause too much medication to go to waste?
The continuous nebulisers from PARI (LC SPRINT and LC PLUS family) are equipped with a valve system that helps to reduce loss of medication significantly. It is most important to keep the mouthpiece in the mouth when breathing out. Inhaling with these nebulisers is very easy, since the nebulising process does not have to be synchronised with the breathing rhythm for them.
How long is the warranty period?
This varies from model to model. Please also refer to our terms and conditions of warranty in the instructions for use.
How often must the filter be replaced?
After 200 operating hours or at least once a year. You should check the filter for contamination regularly and replace it sooner if necessary. The instructions for use contain a detailed description of this procedure.
Is it normal for the connection tubing on the device to become very warm, even hot?
Yes, in short compressing air makes it hot so all nebuliser compressors will generate a certain amount of heat during normal use.
The currently applicable standard DIN EN 60601-1 Part 1 for medical electrical equipment defines requirements regarding maximum permissible temperatures for electrically powered medical products. The corresponding tests on our devices were conducted by an external, accredited test laboratory.
All of our compressors meet the specifications of the standard cited above.
What is a PARI "Year Pack"?
PARI recommends that you replace certain components of your nebuliser, or the entire nebuliser, the connection tubing and the filter every year if the device is used regularly.
The plastic in our nebulisers is subject to a certain amount of wear & tear during use (mechanical and thermal stresses). The area around the nebuliser nozzle is particularly susceptible and this can even alter the composition of the aerosol aerosol
An aerosol is a colloid of fine solid particles or liquid droplets, in air or another gas. droplets, which directly impairs the effectiveness of the treatment; accordingly, we recommend that our nebulisers are replaced on an annual basis. It is also advisable to replace the nebuliser regularly for hygiene reasons.
To make this easier, we offer convenient PARI Year Packs. These contain all of the individual parts that must be replaced at least once a year.
What is the difference between PARI JuniorBOY SX and TurboBOY SX?
The compressors for these two devices are identical in terms of output. The only difference between them is their colour.
The difference between PARI JuniorBOY SX and TurboBOY SX is in their accessories and in the nebuliser type that is supplied with them. For example, the PARI JuniorBOY SX includes the LC SPRINT Junior Nebuliser (yellow nozzle insert). This delivers an even finer aerosol aerosol
An aerosol is a colloid of fine solid particles or liquid droplets, in air or another gas. , specially designed for the smaller airways of babies and infants. In addition, a baby mask and BABY Bend are included with this device, for use by small patients who cannot yet inhale through a mouthpiece. The PARI JuniorBOY SX is thus a device containing accessories particularly suitable for use in inhalation therapy by babies and infants. The PARI TurboBOY SX does not include a baby mask or BABY Bend. The PARI LC SPRINT Nebuliser (blue nozzle insert) included in the package, is ideal for an efficient inhalation therapy for older children and adults.
What medications can be nebulised?
Always ask your Doctor whether a given medication is suitable for inhalation. He or she knows your diagnosis and will perscribe the right medications and dosage you need. Your chemist can also answer some questions about your medications. In general the following applies: given the enormous number of inhalation solutions that are available commercially for the treatment of various respiratory diseases, it is not possible to make any specific recommendations here. Your Doctor will make decisions regarding your treatment.
What must I do if my nebuliser does not generate an aerosol any more?
This may be due to any (or all) of the following:
Is the nozzle insert in the nebuliser is missing?
The nozzle may be blocked (also possible with the LC SPRINT family). Please check the nozzle first. If there are crystalline deposits (e.g. limescale residue) in the nozzle, it may be possible to remove them simply by squeezing the flexible nozzle with your thumb (however, this only works with the LC SPRINT nozzle because it is flexible). For more stubborn blockage, it often helps to clean the nozzle again by boiling the nebuliser. This is also possible for cleaning the LC PLUS Nebuliser nozzle. See instructions for use. Please note that the small holes must be poked through very carefully and only from the nozzle underside.
What should I do if I notice condensation in the connection tubing?
Small amounts of condensation can form in the connection tubing as a result of air humidity and temperature fluctuations. It is not medication, just condensed water vapour from the ambient air.
After each nebulising session, you should always switch the compressor on again and blow the tube dry with the nebuliser disconnected.
The instructions for use contain a detailed description of this procedure.

Which chemical disinfectants do you recommend for my PARI nebuliser?
In the home, nebulisers and accessories (not the tubing) should only be disinfected by boiling or using a steam disinfector. There is no recommendation for chemical disinfectants in this situation.
Who pays the carriage when devices are sent to the Technical Service Dept.?
If you have a complaint regarding the device please call us on 01932 341122. Please also refer to our terms and conditions of warranty in the instructions for use.
Why is it not sufficient to simply rinse out the nebuliser after inhaling?
Because rinsing only cleans the nebuliser, microorganisms are only eliminated if the nebuliser is disinfected by boiling. Please read our instructions for use on this subject.
Why should the accessories be replaced regularly?
The nebuliser, tube and filter are wearing parts.
To ensure that the quality of the therapy remains consistent, these parts should be replaced once a year.
For this, PARI offers the convenient Year Packs.
Why should the same nebuliser not be used by more than one person?
In the home, each family member should use his or her own nebuliser chamber, this is for hygiene reasons.
In theory, PARI nebulisers could be used by several patients. However, according to the hygiene regulations currently in force, this is not permitted unless the nebuliser can be sterilised (e. g. in an autoclave in a hospital).
KIV, boiling in water, cold water disinfection tablets (e.g. Milton tablets) & 'baby bottle' disinfectors do not sterilise, they just disinfect (this is a lower hygiene standard).
Will the current PARI accessories fit my old PARI device?
PARI uses a modular system to ensure that the current range of accessories will fit all PARI BOY devices from as early as 1996.
