PURCHASE OF PARI PRODUCTS
Are PARI products latex-free?
All of our products are latex-free.
Are the mouthpieces for the VORTEX also available separately?
Yes, they can be ordered from PARI Medical Ltd in packs of 10.
Can adults also use the PARI JuniorBOY SX compressor for nebulising?
Yes, there is no technical reason that means it is
not possible to use the JuniorBOY SX compressor with adult patients;
the important decision is which nebuliser chamber is attached to
PARI offers several different nebuliser systems,
all of which are adapted to the anatomy of the airways of different
patient groups. In order to treat the lower airways effectively,
it is important to create a droplet spectrum that is appropriate for
the respective age group and target areas. Normally, an adult would use
the LC SPRINT Nebuliser (blue nozzle insert) for inhaling. But the
correct nebuliser is determined not only by the patient's age but also
by the indication.
Some medications should ideally be deposited in
the peripheral regions of the lungs, others in the central region. The
choice of the most suitable nebuliser therefore depends on the lung
region in which treatment is to be concentrated. The nebulisers produce
progressively finer aerosols, starting with the LC SPRINT Junior
Nebuliser (yellow nozzle insert) and ending with the LC SPRINT STAR
Nebuliser (red nozzle insert). If one is targeting the peripheral
regions of the lungs, and/or if the patient's airways are severely
obstructed, the PARI LC SPRINT Junior Nebuliser or LC SPRINT STAR
Nebuliser may be capable of providing treatment more efficiently for an
adult than the LC SPRINT Nebuliser.
Can dry powder inhalers (DPI) also be inhaled with the VORTEX?
The VORTEX is a holding chamber for sprays, specifically
metered dose inhalers. A holding chamber is not needed for DPIs. In this
case it is more important that the patient has a sufficient inspiratory
flow to inhale the respirable particles out of the device.
Can I use my PARI BOY compressor anywhere in the world?
Different countries around the world use different
voltages for their mains electricity supply, here in the UK we have
240V at 50Hz.
The PARI BOY mobile S is suitable for use any where in the world. The PARI BOY mobile S includes a universal power supply which can be used with voltages between 100 and 240 V and 50 to 40 Hz.
Our mains compressor's voltage requirements can be checked on the
identification label on the underside of the compressor. This should
then be checked to ensure compatibility in the country you are visiting.
Do square or oval metered dose inhalers also fit on the VORTEX?
Generally, yes. The blue connecting ring has a flexible border that
will in general fit the various shapes of the metered dose inhalers.
Does the BABY Bend always have to be used with the baby mask?
Yes, when the baby mask is used for inhaling, it is essential to use the
BABY Bend as well, because the baby mask does not have an expiratory
valve. This means that if the mask fits tightly, the baby cannot exhale.
The slots in the BABY Bend enable the used air to be exhaled.
How long is the warranty period?
This varies from model to model. Please also refer to our terms and conditions of warranty in the instructions for use.
How often must the filter be replaced?
After 200 operating hours or at least once a year. You should check the
filter for contamination regularly and replace it sooner if necessary.
The instructions for use contain a detailed description of this
Is it normal for the connection tubing on the device to become very warm, even hot?
Yes, in short compressing air makes it hot so all nebuliser
compressors will generate a certain amount of heat during normal use.
The currently applicable standard DIN EN 60601-1 Part 1 for medical
electrical equipment defines requirements regarding maximum permissible
temperatures for electrically powered medical products. The
corresponding tests on our devices were conducted by an external,
accredited test laboratory.
All of our compressors meet the specifications of the standard cited above.
Is it possible to inhale several medications one after the other using the same VORTEX?
If your doctor has instructed you to inhale several different
medications one after the other without interruption, you can use the
same VORTEX for this. It is not necessary to clean the VORTEX between successive medications in an inhalation session.
What is a PARI "Year Pack"?
PARI recommends that you replace certain components of your nebuliser, or the entire nebuliser, the connection tubing and the filter every year if the device is used regularly.
The plastic in our nebulisers is subject to a certain amount of wear & tear during use (mechanical and thermal stresses). The area around the nebuliser nozzle
is particularly susceptible and this can even alter the composition of
the aerosol aerosol
An aerosol is a colloid of fine solid particles or liquid droplets, in air or another gas. droplets, which directly impairs the effectiveness of the
treatment; accordingly, we recommend that our nebulisers are replaced on
an annual basis. It is also advisable to replace the nebuliser regularly for hygiene reasons.
To make this easier, we offer convenient PARI Year Packs. These contain all of the individual parts that must be replaced at least once a year.
What is the difference between PARI JuniorBOY SX and TurboBOY SX?
The compressors for these two devices are identical in terms of output. The only difference between them is their colour.
The difference between PARI JuniorBOY SX and TurboBOY SX is in their accessories and in the nebuliser type that is supplied with them. For example, the PARI JuniorBOY SX includes the LC SPRINT Junior Nebuliser (yellow
nozzle insert). This delivers an even finer aerosol aerosol
An aerosol is a colloid of fine solid particles or liquid droplets, in air or another gas. , specially designed
for the smaller airways of babies and infants. In addition, a baby mask
and BABY Bend are included with this device, for use by small patients
who cannot yet inhale through a mouthpiece. The PARI JuniorBOY SX is
thus a device containing accessories particularly suitable for use in
inhalation therapy by babies and infants. The PARI TurboBOY SX does not
include a baby mask or BABY Bend. The PARI LC SPRINT Nebuliser (blue nozzle insert) included in the package, is ideal for an efficient inhalation therapy for older children and adults.
What is the difference between the PARI LC SPRINT BABY and LC SPRINT Junior Nebulisers?
The LC SPRINT BABY Nebuliser generates an extremely fine aerosol aerosol

This nebuliser should therefore be used when it is necessary to deliver
the aerosol aerosol

The PARI LC SPRINT Junior Nebuliser, with the yellow nozzle
attachment, creates an aerosol aerosol

nebuliser is very good for treating the central-intermediate regions of
babies' and infants' lungs.
What must I do if my nebuliser does not generate an aerosol any more?
This may be due to any (or all) of the following:
Is the nozzle insert in the nebuliser is missing?
nozzle may be blocked (also possible with the LC SPRINT family).
Please check the nozzle first. If there are crystalline deposits (e.g.
limescale residue) in the nozzle, it may be possible to remove them
simply by squeezing the flexible nozzle with your thumb (however, this
only works with the LC SPRINT nozzle because it is flexible). For more
stubborn blockage, it often helps to clean the nozzle again by boiling
the nebuliser. This is also possible for cleaning the LC PLUS Nebuliser nozzle.
See instructions for use. Please note that the small holes must be
poked through very carefully and only from the nozzle underside.
- Is there enough medication in the nebuliser? Make sure that the medication in the nebuliser reaches the fill mark. Minimum: 2ml, Maximum: 8ml.
Where are PARI products offered for sale?
In the UK PARI products are available from some on-line retailers, some
retail shops or by calling 01932 34 11 22 to place a telephone order
direct with PARI Medical Ltd.
Which mask is suitable for which age group?
The Ladybug children's mask can be used by infants from birth up to
about 2 years of age. The Frog children's mask can be used by children
aged 2 and older. Since inhalation is more efficient with a mouthpiece
than with a mask, the child should be encouraged to inhale through the
mouthpiece as soon as he or she is able to do so.
Why is it not permitted to attach elastic bands to the baby mask?
Since babies often move their heads vigorously, the mask might slip off
even if it were attached with elastic bands. Nebulising with a silicone
mask is intended solely for babies and infants, and they must be
supervised constantly by an adult when inhaling. The nebuliser should be
held in place by hand and should fit snugly over the child's mouth and
Why should the accessories be replaced regularly?
The nebuliser, tube and filter are wearing parts.
To ensure that the quality of the therapy remains consistent, these parts should be replaced once a year.
For this, PARI offers the convenient Year Packs.
Why should the same nebuliser not be used by more than one person?
In the home, each family member should use his or her own nebuliser chamber, this is for hygiene reasons.
In theory, PARI nebulisers could be used by several patients.
However, according to the hygiene regulations currently in force, this
is not permitted unless the nebuliser can be sterilised (e. g. in an autoclave in a hospital).
KIV, boiling in water, cold water disinfection tablets (e.g. Milton
tablets) & 'baby bottle' disinfectors do not sterilise, they just
disinfect (this is a lower hygiene standard).
Will PARI take back my old battery?

& Accumulators Regulations 2009, PARI Medical Ltd are obliged to
take back, free of charge, any waste batteries supplied to an end user
for treatment and recycling. If any of our customers require us to take
