PARI PIF-CONTROL SYSTEM

The PARI LC SPRINT nebuliser, which is an integral part of all products in the PARI BOY SX family, is equipped with the PIF Control System. This is a system, that detects when the user is inhaling too fast, and helps to slow it down to the most effective rate.

Small flap - big effect: inhaling even more effectively by monitoring the correct breathing manoeuvre

The PARI PIF Control System (Peak Inspiratory Flow Inspiratory Flow

) is a special design feature with which the inspiratory valve shim in the nebuliser upper section closes off the nebuliser chamber except for a very small aperture if the user is breathing in too rapidly (more than 30 l/min). This restricts the air supply from the outside and so creates higher inspiratory resistance. As soon as you feel this resistance, you should breathe in more slowly. This will improve the absorption rate of the medication. If you do not feel any resistance when breathing in, you are inhaling correctly. The PARI PIF Control System helps you to learn to inhale slowly and in a controlled manner, so that more of the medication reaches your lungs. So you can perfect your breathing manoeuvre very simply during your inhalation treatment session.

How the PARI PIF Control System works

Breathing in slowly helps to optimise delivery of the medication to the lungs, and reduces the amount that is deposited too soon, in the throat for example. The automatic "feedback" by the nebuliser limits the inspiratory flow inspiratory flow

to an optimum of about 30 l/min. This enables significantly more usable medication - compared with the same inhalation time with other devices - to reach the lungs, where it can be deposited.

The outstanding efficiency of the PARI PIF Control System has been demonstrated in medical tests, with impressive results.

Deposition without Pif Control, increased Throatdeposition

fast (incorrect) inhalation:

Without the PIF Control System:
Lower quantities of usable medication deliverable to the lungs for the same unit of time.

Lung deposition with PIF Control

slower inhalation (with/controlled by PIF Control System)

With PIF Control System:Significantly higher quantities of usable medication deliverable to the lungs for the same unit of time.
