Tab.: The survey results by Agent et al. show that it is the 3-7% hypertonic saline solutions that are used most often amongst CF patients in Europe.

The study authors drew the following conclusions:

  •  86.4% of CF physicians in Europe and the USA already use HS in the therapy of their patients.
  • Among the hypertonic saline solutions, it is the 3-7% ones that are used most often in Europe.
  •  Most CF patients inhale HS twice a day.

Conclusion: This large survey has confirmed the wide dissemination of hypertonic saline solutions in CF therapy all over the world.
