PARI VORTEX® Non Electrostatic Valved Holding Chamber

PARI has paved the way for holding chamber technology by introducing the first non-electrostatic holding chamber in North America – the VORTEX®.

What is a non-electrostatic holding chamber?
It is a holding chamber that has a neutrally static charge to it. The PARI Vortex® is constructed of a metal chamber, so unlike plastic, there is no static charge.

Why care about static?
Conventional plastic holding chambers retain a static charge which attract medication aerosol to its walls during treatment. The non- electrostatic feature of the Vortex® does not attract these particles, allowing for more medication to be available for inhalation, resulting in a more efficient treatment.

New HFA MDIs and Holding Chambers.
In order for an MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler) to work properly, a propellant is needed. Traditionally, CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbon) have been used in MDIs. Now that CFCs have been proven to damage the atmosphere, medications in MDI's have been mandated to be made with an environmentally safer formulation - HFA (Hydrofluoroalkane) propellants. Though safer for the ozone, HFA propellants have a higher static charge than the previous CFC propellants used, which means that it is more important than ever to use a non-electrostatic chamber in order to obtain an efficient treatment.

The Vortex® is also less dependant, making treatments user friendly, consistent, and simple everyday! Available with adult, toddler, and child size masks, or mouthpiece alone.

The PARI Advantage - VORTEX®

  • Compatible with new HFA MDI formulations
  • Helps deliver more medication to the lungs
  • Non-Electrostatic metal chamber means no static charge, so more medication is delivered on a consistent basis
  • Child friendly and dishwasher safe
Fits most major brands of MDIs
